As he begin as a pharmacist, Jean Chatel was able to combine his knowledge of chemistry and his passion for rum to set up a distillery in his father's pharmacy. The Distillerie Chatel was born from this passion, today with 110 years of history. Skillfully combining tradition and innovation, the Distillery has been able to reinvent itself over the years, while perpetuating the family passion. Anchored in the Reunion region, Alain Chatel, manager and master blender of the distillery since 1981, still honors his family tradition today, alongside his 2 children Julie and Erick.For more than a century, we have been committed to pursue our mission of promoting the Reunionese terroir. Strongly inspired by the Creole culture specific to Reunion Island, Alain Chatel draws inspiration from local fruits and the richness of his territory to develop new recipes. By combining know-how and dynamism, the company is recognized for the quality of its products and its strength in innovation.
